New Course! Lower Back Pain and Exercise Referral
Empiric launches its newest exercise referral course, which rolls two important qualifications into one training experience…
Lower back pain is one of the most common complaints that a personal trainer will come across in their clients. Some research suggests that up to 80% of the population is likely to suffer from it at some point in their life. Chronic lower back pain can be temporarily debilitating and can even become a permanent disability. However, research has also shown that carefully crafted exercise programmes can dramatically improve the condition for sufferers.
December 2017 will see the launch of Empiric’s Lower Back Pain course. This is a unique programme in that it combines with Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for the Management of Lower Back Pain, with the Level 3 Certificate in Exercise Referral, which is a pre-requisite to the Active IQ Lower Back Pain course.
Empiric’s dual qualification Lower Back Pain course prepares fitness professionals to handle exercise referrals for clients diagnosed with chronic lower back pain. Personal trainers will learn how to work with clients to create bespoke exercise programmes and advise clients on lifestyle changes which will benefit their condition and improve their wellbeing. Together, these two qualifications give fitness professionals the edge over other trainers, in growing their specialist knowledge and skills to attract a new, and potentially vast, client base.
The extraordinary prevalence of lower back pain suggests that such knowledge should be in every personal trainer and fitness instructor’s toolkit. But this isn’t the case. Whether you are faced with chronic clients who come via referrals, or simply training otherwise fit gym clients with occasional back niggles, Empiric’s Lower Back Pain course will give you the skills to handle them in an effective, professional and safe way, so that you can help them remain active, exercise safely and improve their physical condition and well-being.
